Burns Family | Fall Session

Everything about our session with the Burns family was wonderful! We met Randy, Mallorey, Kylar and Foster at Hellebusch Park near both of our houses and we were all so excited to see there was still beautiful fall colors on the trees. Everything about their session was amazing! I love their color scheme, with the red and grey. And the colors in the trees. And the park. And everything about them as a family! Randy and Mallorey are terrific people and wonderful parents. And Kylar was excited to tell me about her school. And Foster, while he was a bit hesitant to talk to me at first, really opened up, especially when we got closer to the park! I would also like to thank Mallorey and Randy. We

Kollette Hoffman | Class of 2018

Meet Kollette! She is a member of the Class of 2018 at Timberland High School. We were honored to meet her and work with her on her senior pictures. It was such a pleasure getting to know her. She keeps herself busy. She is a varsity dancer and on the soccer team. Last month she was named homecoming queen at Timberland. She is involved in HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), and is looking at going to Maryville to become a doctor or nurse practitioner. The day of our session, she was evening hosting a campfire for her fellow HOSA students! We were honored to spend our afternoon with Kollette! Everything about Kolette's style is amazing! And I love all of her dangle bracelets! It's

Elven Family | Family and One-Year Session

We had the pleasure of photographing the Elven family recently. Nick, Stephanie and their son Colin are three of the nicest people you'll ever meet! We met Stephanie when we photographed her sister Amy's wedding last year. At the time, Stephanie was nearly eight months pregnant. I was incredibly excited to hear from her this fall when she got in touch about family pictures, not only to see them again but to meet their little guy, Colin. The day of our session ended up being Colin's one-year and one-month birthday, so the timing was perfect! The weather, however, left a little to be desired; the temperatures dropped pretty quickly between when we arrived and by the time we got done, but littl

Jackie and Carly | Sister Session

These sweet sisters are Jackie and Carly. Carly enjoyed being at the park, but not was not so thrilled whenever I tried to get a picture of her. But Jackie was so helpful. She did everything she could to get to get Carly to smile and have fun. Jackie was so nice, and was determine to help us get a good picture of her sister, but was excited when it was time to take a few pictures of just her. They were so much fun and so sweet. They are perfect sisters! I love both of these pictures! I love in the one on the left how Jackie smiling and Carly is super excited looking off to her mommy on the side. And then in the other picture, which the girls girls spinning. So fun! Jackie was doing everythin

Cheryl and Patrick | Couples Session

I was so excited to work with these two! Cheryl and Patrick are family friends. I'd seen Cheryl recently, but hadn't seen Patrick in quite a few years ... probably since the days of pig roasts at my granny's bar from pre-college years. They haven't had professional pictures taken since their wedding, nearly 30 years ago, so they were the perfect winners of our contest earlier this year for a free session. It was a pleasure getting to spend the afternoon with them. We had to reschedule our first date due to rain (that of course started as we were walking out the door!). And on this particular rescheduled day, it was a lovely 40-degrees out! And colder by the water of the lake. Despite the fre

Seven Tips for a Perfect Proposal

If you are looking at this blog, then it means you are most likely looking to get engaged. If that's the case, congratulations! Proposing is one of the scariest things you'll have to do. The key to a perfect proposal is to have a plan and to be personal. Think about things like timing, location, even attire. Be sure to learn about engagement rings, including the four Cs of diamonds, whether you want a silver or gold band and how much you can afford to spend. There is a lot to consider, but the most important thing is making it personal. A proposal is the perfect time to be sentimental, even if you're not an overly sentimental person. Here are seven tips to keep in mind when planning your pro

Halloween | Styled Session

Two weeks ago we had the pleasure of joining other St. Louis creatives for a styled Halloween-themed session. It was a lot of fun spending the afternoon with Alissa, Deva, Tanna and our beautiful models. It was homecoming, so I arrived later in the day, and they were all set up! It looked amazing! There were four different areas to photograph, and everything was stunning! Deva organized most of the event, including getting the beautiful cake and cookies! Alissa with Makeup by Liss Marie did all of the stunning makeup. And Shannon with Blush Events lent us all of the pretty tablewares. We couldn't have done it without these amazing ladies! Take a look! We worked with Mary, on the left, on las
